The DRUID Academy's Winter Conference on Innovation, Growth and Industrial Dynamics

The conference is organized by the DRUID Academy for doctoral education and training, see further: http://www.druid.dk/academy/. The conference is open for DRUID members as well as for PhD students coming from the international network partners of DRUID, including those connected to the ETIC PhD programme. DRUID is the node for an open international network - new partners are always of interest. Do not hesitate to apply even if you have not been in contact with DRUID previously. We plan for around 40-50 participants.

The main emphasis is on PhD presentations. DRUID seniors will participate mainly as discussants. There will be also be a handful of keynote speakers. At the moment the programme includes the following (without final specification of the titles of their presentations):

We give priority to papers or drafts chapters for theses by PhD students. Please send a title and a synopsis (5-10 lines) to Jeanette Hvarregaard no later than Monday December 1, 2003. You will receive an answer no later than Wednesday December 3, 2003. Final deadline for papers is January 5, 2004. You will receive further informarion of how to submit the paper.

The conference is scheduled for Thursday January 22 at 15.00 to Saturday January 24 at 14.00. The DRUID Academy can pay for the hotel and food from Thursday January 22 after lunch until Saturday January 24, lunch included. However, as our resources for travel grants are limited, we strongly encourage you to seek local finance for your travel costs. In case you cannot find local finance you can apply for support by the DRUID Academy when you submit your abstract. Local co-finance would be helpful in the latter case. Given the rather high costs of domestic air transport in Denmark, we definitely encourage you to use the train to Aalborg from Copenhagen Airport. Trains depart from the station at International Terminal 3. Get off at Skoerping, which is rather close to the conference hotel (located about 30 km south of Aalborg).
